    Canned third batch of tomatoes

    Latest weaving project
Last week I tried working on a new project using my 4 shaft Kessenich floor loom. My plans were to weave three dish towels in a twill pattern using 8/2 unmercerized cotton. To explain what 8/2 means the second (smaller) number indicates the number of plies while the first (larger) number indicates the size of yarn. When the first number is a "1" this is a thicker size yarn. Most sewing cotton thread is 50/2 which is very thin. Depending on the fiber content, for example, wool can be from 20/2

I do have table runners, coasters, rugs, yarn, etc. but I got the idea that since I do like to weave why not do dish towels. I have seen other alpaca people sell other items besides alpaca related. And the cotton woven dish towels and alpaca rugs seem to entice people to come into my booth area to look

    Dealing with Japanese Beetles
This year the Japanese Beetles have been really bad. I first started seeing them one day on my sweet corn. They were eating the silks off the ears of the corn. Not good.  So I quickly sprinkled some Sevin granules I had all over the corn then when a rain came along the beetles disappeared. So they have now attacked my strawberry patch. So I did the same thing. After pulling the weeds I sprinkled Sevin granules all over them. Yesterday while taking the dogs for a walk I see the beetles starting
